Project

The Açorianidade Portal was created from the need to articulate and bring together in a single platform the several websites managed by the Presidency of the Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for the Communities, thus facilitating the search and research of the themes covered by this department, present in its daily work and relationship with the communities.

Therefore, and making use of the dissemination potential that new technologies offer, the Açorianidade Portal presents itself as a space capable of highlighting almost a dozen official websites dedicated to socio-cultural manifestations of the nine islands of the Autonomous Region, with significant expression in the Azorean communities abroad.

On this digital platform you can find the websites “Azoreans in the World”, “World Council of Houses of Azores”, “Guide to the Holy Spirit Festivities in the Azores and the Communities”, “Guide to the Folklore Groups of the Azores and the Communities” and “Guide of the Philharmonic Bands of the Azores and the Communities”.

Here you can also find the new version of the “Azorean Communities” website, dedicated to scientific works, as well as access links to two new projects, under construction: the “Digital Catalog of the General Bibliography of the Azorean Diaspora” and the “Virtual visit to the Collection of Memories of the Regional Directorate for Communities”.

You will also find links to visit other websites of government, namely, the Government of the Azores Portal, where you will find up-to-date information on government activity and government departments, and the Azores Culture website, that offers news about Azorean culture, just one click away.

The Açorianidade Portal becomes a means of bringing together several projects that allow users to access all these contents in a single space, facilitating their research and studies, and focusing on a single platform several themes of common interest to the Azorean communities and other interested parties.
