4th Azores Brazil Meeting takes place on December 3 in Florianópolis
The Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for the Communities, is promoting the 4th Azores Brazil Meeting on December 3 in Florianópolis, the capital of the state of Santa Catarina.
The event will bring together the presidents of the Houses of the Azores and the Azorean diaspora advisers who represent the Azoreans and Azorean descendants in the various Brazilian states.
The Regional Director for the Communities, José Andrade, will chair the 4th Azores Brazil Meeting, representing the President of the Regional Government. The event will be attended by the leaders of the Houses of the Azores of Santa Catarina (Sérgio Luiz Ferreira), São Paulo (António Arruda), Rio Grande do Sul (Viviane Peixoto Hunter), Rio de Janeiro (Leonardo Soares), Maranhão (Raphael Guará) and Maranhão (Sérgio Luiz Ferreira) and Espírito Santo (Nino Seródio).
The meeting will also include speeches by the Azorean diaspora advisers elected by the states of Rio de Janeiro (Daniel Gonçalves), São Paulo (José Luís Jacob), Santa Catarina (Willian Agostinho Marques), Rio Grande do Sul (Régis Marques Gomes) and other states of Brazil (Aristides Bógea Bittencourt).
The 1st Azores Brazil Meeting took place in October 2021 at the Conceição Palace in Ponta Delgada with the participation of the presidents of the Houses of the Azores of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul and Maranhão, in addition to the Association of Azorean Emigrants and the CRESAÇOR Migrant Support Office.
The 2nd Meeting took place in March 2022 at the Palácio dos Capitães-Generais, in Angra do Heroísmo and was attended by the Azorean diaspora advisers elected by Brazil. The event was also attended by ASIBA – Association of Brazilian Immigrants in the Azores and AIPA – Association of Immigrants in the Azores.
The 3rd Meeting was held in July last year in the city of Rio de Janeiro, a joint initiative of the presidents of the Houses of the Azores in Brazil and the Azorean Diaspora advisers elected by the different Brazilian states.
