Houses of Azores are “true embassies of Azoreanity”, emphasizes the President of the Government
The President of the Regional Government of the Azores, José Manuel Bolieiro, was present, Tuesday evening, on the formal opening session of the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the House of the Azores in Lisbon, highlighting on this occasion the role of these Houses, as “true embassies of Azoreanity” all over the world.
For promoting a “constant connection with the Azores and the Azoreans”, the House of the Azores, “the first and more ancient house of the Azores in the world”, was praised by the President of the Government for “the excellent work and the opportunities that it can continue to create” in bringing the Azoreans closer.
“It is obvious that the public politics and the Regional Government have the responsibility to acknowledge its success”, continued the President, guaranteeing a “progressive path” of appreciation of the Houses of the Azores.
José Manuel Bolieiro qualified the activities’ program that will mark the 95 years of the House of the Azores in Lisbon as “very enriching”, and he complimented the institution, namely the President of the Board of the House of Azores, Delfina Porto, and the President of the General Assembly of the House of Azores, Miguel Loureiro.
On this occasion, the leader also emphasized the role of communication on the “promotion of events” and spreading the word about these initiatives that take the name of the region further.
In the presence of some dozens of guests, José Manuel Bolieiro also draw a picture of the current challenges of the Azores and the main ruling priorities of this Executive, namely in areas as Education and Health.
The Regional Director for the Communities, José Andrade, also attended the session.
