The Vice-Presidency of the Government promotes “Integration School”

The Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores, through the Regional Directorate for the Communities, promotes the program “Integration School”, a cycle of sessions that aims to present the life journey of immigrants that are fully integrated in the Azorean society to 3rd cycle students from schools of São Miguel, Terceira and Faial. This project, that takes place during the months of November and December, consists of sharing testimonials in the first-person from citizens of other countries fully integrated on a social level in the local communities and professionally linked to several areas, such as business, teaching, arts, catering, sports or hotel business. On this first stage, the program “Integration School” has five sessions scheduled, starting next Thursday, November 18, at the Auditorium of the Ponta Delgada Public Library and Regional Archives, at 10:15 am, dedicated to the students from the Secondary School Antero de Quental. According to the initiative’s calendar, on the morning of November 25, the project reaches the island of Faial, where a session takes place at the Secondary School Manuel de Arriaga. In December, there are three sessions scheduled on the islands of São Miguel and Terceira, namely on the 2nd, at the Secondary School of Lagoa, at 10:15am and on the 11th, at the Elementary and Secondary School Tomás de Borba, in Angra do Heroísmo, at 10am. Five days later, on December 16, the Secondary School of Ribeira Grande hosts another session of this initiative, at 10:15am. “Integration School” has the collaboration of AIPA – Association of Immigrants in the Azores and the participation of 10 foreign citizens natural from Cape Vert, Spain, Brasil, Estonia, Italy, France and Ukraine. With this initiative, the Government of the Azores aims to make known citizens from other countries that are fully integrated in the Azorean society and highlight, especially among young people, their contribution for the development of the Region.
