{"id":4019,"date":"2022-01-11T12:41:30","date_gmt":"2022-01-11T12:41:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/portaldaacorianidade.azores.gov.pt\/?p=4019"},"modified":"2022-02-10T17:50:22","modified_gmt":"2022-02-10T17:50:22","slug":"conversations-of-the-diaspora-with-the-media-from-the-united-states-and-canada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/portaldaacorianidade.azores.gov.pt\/en\/conversations-of-the-diaspora-with-the-media-from-the-united-states-and-canada\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cConversations of the Diaspora\u201d with the media from the United States and Canada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores promotes, starting next Monday, September 27<sup>th<\/sup>, a new cycle of the initiative \u201cConversations of the Diaspora\u201d, this time dedicated to the media that serve the communities of Azorean emigrants and their descendants in the United States of America and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The first two season of this initiative have approached and introduced the Houses of Azores throughout the world and the 19 councilors that integrate the Azorean Diaspora Council, an advisory organ of the Government of the Azores. Now, the Conversations of the Diaspora will present the media of the Azorean communities, by approaching their challenges and the important role they have in North America.<\/p>\n<p>This new cycle will start on September 27<sup>th<\/sup>, with the first session that joins the media Portuguese Times, O Jornal, the Radio Voz do Emigrante and the Radio WJFD, all from the State of Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>On the following week, October 4<sup>th<\/sup>, the Radio CIRV, the Correio da Manh\u00e3 Canad\u00e1 TV, the newspaper Sol Portugu\u00eas and the TV show Gente da Nossa TV, from the city of Toronto, will be the guests for the second session.<\/p>\n<p>From the Canadian province of Ontario, the Conversations of the Diaspora travels to the American state of California, on October 11<sup>th<\/sup>, to get to know the newapaper The Portuguese\u00a0Tribune, the program Portuguese\u00a0BeyondBorders Institute\u00a0from radio KGST,\u00a0the radio sations Lusal\u00e2ndia\u00a0and\u00a0Portugal USA, from the group Diaspora Media\u00a0Group,\u00a0Inc, and the radio stations KSQQ, KLBS and KQLB.<\/p>\n<p>The forth session, scheduled for October 18<sup>th<\/sup>, will host as guests the newspaper\u00a0Lusopresse\u00a0and\u00a0LusaQ\u00a0TV, the newspaper O A\u00e7oriano, the weakly newspaper A Voz de Portugal and Radio\u00a0Centre-Ville, from the province of Qu\u00e9bec, in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The last session will gather, on October 25<sup>th<\/sup>, the magazine A Pra\u00e7a (from Rhode Island, USA), the\u00a0Luso-Americano\u00a0Newspaper\u00a0(from New Jersey, USA), the radio program\u00a0Portuguese in Manitoba, from\u00a0Radio CKJS (from Manitoba, Canada)\u00a0and the radio stations BC and CHMB (from British Columbia, Canada).<\/p>\n<p>The Conversations of the Diaspora are an initiative of the Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores that will take place weekly on Mondays, at 6:30pm Azorean time, through livestreaming on the official webpage of the Regional Directorate for the Communities on the social media Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>These sessions with the directors of the media sector of the Azorean communities in North America will be conducted by the Regional Director for the Communities, Jos\u00e9 Andrade.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores promotes, starting next Monday, September 27th, a new cycle of the initiative \u201cConversations of the Diaspora\u201d, this time dedicated to the media that serve the communities of Azorean emigrants and their descendants in the United States of America and Canada.
