The Azorean Communities’ portal is for all the people interested in Azorean culture and focuses on several fields of knowledge, all with the same theme: the Azores.
Therefore, the main goal is to map and integrate, in a digital space, knowledge about “Azoreanity” in areas such as History, Literature, Portuguese Language Teaching, Bibliographic References, Arts and Letters, or Cultural Heritage, among others.
After the first version of the Azorean Communities’ website, which had its genesis after the II and III Emigration/Communities Journeys, in January 2004, on São Miguel Island, and in June 2007, on Graciosa Island, this project now appears renewed and remodeled, with an image and features adapted to the current technological reality.
The Azorean Communities’ portal will continue to be an important instrument for the dissemination of knowledge, at the same time as it pays homage to the thousands of Azoreans and their descendants who have spread the culture of the Azores around the world.
